Betty was a gracious and loving homemaker, quilter, knitter and crafter. She loved to share cooked and baked goods with family and friends. Betty was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Englewood.
She is survived by her children, Jeff (Carol) Rice of Englewood, Lynne (Bill) Schutz of Ft. Myers, and Rex (Tina) Rice of Northwood, Ohio; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother Robert of Pemberville, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Audrey Rice, Jean Ladd and Pat Ladd; many nieces and nephews; Goddaughter, Erica (Joachim) Lindberg; and special friend, Sue Joachim. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell E. Rice; brothers, Harold and Don; sister-in-law, Lois; and dear friend, Fred Boehm.
A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 701 N. Indiana Ave. Englewood, Florida, on Sunday, May 27, at 2pm. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Clay-Genoa Cemetery outside Genoa, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be given to Christ Lutheran Church, or to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida, or to a charity of choice.
