

Willie was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico on March 22, 1937. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisca and Arturo Vazquez along with his brothers Arturo, Pedro and Guillermo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Margarita Vazquez, his four children and their spouses; Bienvenido Vazquez Jr (Laura), Francisco Vazquez (Sheila), Javier Vazquez (Jenniffer) and Maricela Perdomo (Jesse), grandchildren- Shannon, Taylor, Jennifer, Samantha, Benjamin, Francisco, Mililani, Gabriel and Belen. He is also survived by his siblings Virginia, Jose, Jaime, Flor, Gilberto, Carmen and Juan along with numerous family and friends.
He helped found the Borinquen Latin American Club in Syracuse in the mid 1970’s. He loved to fish and grow fruits, especially his mangoes and vegetables. He was a baseball fan and made the best pernil (roast pork) around.
Calling hours will be held Monday, November 15th from 2:00- 4:00 PM at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services.
Funeral service will also be at Kays-Ponger on Tuesday, November 16th from 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be sent to his favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children Hospital https://www.stjude.org/ in his honor.
