Burnadine was born January 18, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio and later moved to Springfield, Ohio where she grew up. Bernie relocated to Port Charlotte in 1969 with her husband and two young children, Mark and Cindy. Bernie worked as a waitress at one of Port Charlotte's first restaurants, Vera's for many years, and later the Village Oyster Bar in Fisherman's Village.
Bernie is survived by her son, Mark LaRue and daughter, Cindy LaRue; son Steve Cardwell and daughter Shelley Hoffmann; granddaughters, Shawna Cardwell and Jolene LaRue; grandsons, Shane Cardwell and Jonathan Hoffmann; brother, Roger Wagner; sisters, Frances Simms and Linda Monroe; nephews, Tony Conner and Jeffrey Masters; nieces, Jenny Cyphers, Jeanne Pamer and Nikki Hudson. Bernie is preceded in death by her husband, Delton Cardwell, who left us last year.
Bernie was loved deeply by her family and friends and we will miss her each and every day.
A celebration of life service, for family and friends is being held at the Bayshore Live Oak Park Pavillion in Charlotte Harbor on November 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
