

Dave was born March 3, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to, Eva and Robert Kohler, both now deceased. Dave served in the Merchant Marines from 1951 - 1954 on the Great lakes for the Bowen-Cornelius Line. In 1971 he moved to Cape Coral with his family. From 1978-1989, he was owner and operator of Kohler Painting & Decorating. He was very active in the Building Boom in Lee & Charlotte Counties during the 1970's & 1980's .Dave was currently a member of the American Legion and enjoyed many friendships there.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Jan; daughter, Carrie Broderick, granddaughters, Dr. Jennifer Broderick and Jonna Broderick; son, Leo Kohler (Anna), of Naples, FL, grandsons, Brandon, Joshua and Nicolas; sisters, Barbara Heck (Jerry), Karen Kohler Hartberg, Janice Anello (Art) and brother, Bobby Kohler and several, nieces and nephews, all living in Milwaukee.
Dave will be sorely missed by his wife and children. Dave did not want a memorial service. The family wants to give a special thanks to TideWell Hospice and Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home for the love and kindness given to us. "you are all angels"
