Dear Dave's Family,
I am so sorry that I will not be able to attend Dave's memorial. My heart aches, as does everyone elses on Via Seville. I want you to know that I share in your grief, it was such a pleasure to have known your Dad and have him as a friend. I miss him a lot but am so thankful for the laughs that we had and the memories that were made. Much strength and comfort to all of you, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you wonderful memories as I will have.....

To Dave's Family:

I am so very sorry for your loss of this wonderful man.  We have been neighbors and friends since he moved down here in 2004.  I as all of his neighbors could always count on Dave's big smile and happy demeanor when passing on our day-to-day affairs, or his helpful hand and offers of help when I needed it. We had many fun times and he was a good friend to my family.

He personally planted that center garden in our cove, which has grown quite lovely over the past few years, just to brighten our neighborhood up - that was typical of him...Always bright, always looking to make those around him feel bright.  I shall forever look at that beautiful island and think "that's Dave's Island".

He is already greatly missed.  My prayers go out to all of you, his family, and to all those that had the joy of knowing "Capt'n Dave."

I am so sorry for your loss as I know how special Dave was to each of you.  Father, Father-in-law, Pop Pop and friend, he filled all our lives in so many wonderful ways.  Dave's love for his family was so deep and strong.  He was a role model for each of us.  I wish I could be there, and am thinking of you all,keeping you and Dave in my thoughts and prayers. Dear Family,
I just want to tell all of you how sorry I was to hear about Dave. He was a special person as I am sure you all know.  I was probably one of the first people to know him here in Punta Gorda as I sold him his house.  He was always a joy when I would see him and wanted to tell me how much he enjoyed it here.  I am sure he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Dave's family,
So sorry and shocked to hear of Dave's passing.  I knew Dave as a fellow member of a Singles Sailing Club here in Punta Gorda.  I'm originally from St. Louis and Dave and I often talked about the time he lived there. He was a good guy, I will miss him. My deepest condolences.

To Dave's Family,
Just now heard about it and I am very sorry for your loss. Even though I didn't know him very well we took an instant liking to each other. We shared a lot of medical talk with boating and other stuff thrown in. Dave, I shall miss you.

Dave was my best friend in florida. I helped remodeled his kitchen,and taught him to pilot his new boat.At the end of each completed project you could count on that big grin saying hey ralph you got time for a beer. The day wouldn't be complete with out that phrase.He seldom would pass my house with out stoping.I still look out at every passing car hopeing to see that black suv and that big toothy grin.
