

Dolores "Dolly" Navarro Mayo, 72 years old, of Arcadia, Florida suddenly passed away on April 30, 2020. She was born on March 26, 1948 in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to the United States in 1984.
Dolly is the second oldest of eight children from the late Fe and Vicente Navarro. She has the rigor and perseverance to help her mother to provide for the family when their father passed away. Faced with challenges and life struggles, she was determined to have a brighter future not only for herself, family, but also others around her. With her unwavering desire to help others, she pursued a Bachelors of Science degree in Education. She taught elementary at Saint Bridgets School Quezon City and Legarda Elementary School in Manila, Philippines. She influenced a lot of great minds who were grateful for her patience and caring personality.
For her next adventure, she moved to the United States where she explored opportunities providing care for elderlies and working for the Department of Children and Families. Dolly met the love of her life, Philip Mayo in Bellflower, California where they got married on December 17, 1988. They both moved to Arcadia, Florida where they enjoyed the simple and quiet, yet fulfilling life.
She loves to cook delicious Filipino delicacies, take long walks around the neighborhood, visit the beaches, shopping, reading, gardening, and organizing everything around her. Her keen attention to every detail is unmeasurable and life without Dolly will be extremely difficult. Her laughter carries out from miles away and her smile radiates hope. She will never be forgotten.
Dolly is also well known as the matriarch of the Navarro family. She has helped every single member of the family in every aspect of our lives. She stood as a parent figure to her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Her kindness, generosity, and compassionate personality have influenced and made a huge impact on all of our lives. She shared all our sadness, life’s challenges, joy, and celebrations. Dolly was really the epitome of a loving mother that has true passion for selfless acts.
She is survived by her husband Philip Mayo and their adopted daughter Junie Pabruada, her stepchildren Ed Mayo, Ingrid Thomas, and PJ Mayo, her siblings Tess Rosales, Vicente Navarro Jr, Elvira Pabruada, and Caridad Aldemita, her nieces and nephews Ivy Pabruada Delos Reyes, Gabriel Pabruada Jr., Rommel Rosales,Theresa Rosales, Eric Aldemita, Ryan Aldemita.
The family will receive friends during a time of Visitation on May 7th Thursday between 5:00pm till 7:00pm at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
