Dulce was born July 14, 1946 to Herman and Jean Schreiber just outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She met the love of her life, Dennis Jacobson, while studying at Stout State College. Dulce must have known there was something special about Dennis, as she told her roommate the night of their first date that was the man she was going to marry. Dennis started his teaching career in Michigan, before she moved here to start their union. She was right with her prediction, as they tied the knot in August of 1968. Their marriage was blessed with 2 children, Debi and David. Dulce spent the majority of her career managing Hancock Fabrics and Joann Fabrics stores, which was right in line with her favorite hobbies of sewing and crocheting. In her spare time, Dulce was heavily involved with the Girl Scouts of America, often sharing her craft ideas and lessons with other leaders to pass on to their troops. She also has been a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Belleville, Michigan. She spent many years assisting in their Food Pantry program, and participated in mission trips to build homes and churches. Her and Dennis also loved to travel visiting many countries. After retirement, she and Dennis found relaxation in the warmer temperatures of Florida where she found another community within Edgewater Church in Port Charlotte, Florida. She spent her time watching sunsets on the beach, reading, sewing, crocheting still, and spending time with family. She supported her grandchildren passions such as sports well into their adulthoods.
She is the loving wife of Dennis for 57 years. Proud mother of Debi Carson, and David (Lynnette) Jacobson. Adoring grandmother of Bethany (Justin) Emery, Phoenix Jacobson, Dakotah Carson, and Sophia Jacobson. Proud sister of Jeannine (Joe) Rodriguez, Randi (Jim) Betley, and the late Elissa (Ken) Betley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Linda Jacobson, and son-in-law Jim Carson. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law Eddie Jacobson, and Jill (Jan) Goldberg.
