She was born in Providence, RI, on March 16, 1933, daughter of Florence (Norberg) Macomber and Raymond Macomber, the oldest of 10 children. Edna was married to George J. Thibault on May 2, 1951, nearly 60 years. She is survived by her husband, George; two children, Raymond Thibault and his wife Donna Weatherston Thibault of St. Cloud, FL, and Cheryl Thibault of Randolph, VT; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandparent, and her family was her first priority. She was very generous with her time and served on numerous committees in various capacities to benefit cancer research and disadvantaged members of the community.
In the 1950s she attended hairdressing school and subsequently opened her own shop. She furthered her education in 1965, acquiring a degree in accounting, and became bookkeeper of Harbor Construction, Co. and Warren Towing Corporation and then owner of Harbor Marine Corporation, retiring in 1985. Most recently she worked as Co-chairman for the Board of Election in Charlotte County.
An avid golfer, she became treasurer and eventually president for the Rotonda Women's Golf Association.
Edna became involved in the Order of Eastern Star in the early 1960s and held many distinguished offices, including Worthy Matron of Unity Chapter in Riverside, RI; Grand Marshall of Grand Chapter of RI; Worthy Grand Matron of RI; and General Grand Chapter Committee Member at the national level.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
