Edwin Lawrence Aument III, known affectionately as Larry to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024, in Port Charlotte, Florida, at the age of 84. Born on November 9, 1939, in Camden, New Jersey, Larry was a man whose life was marked by a deep love for his family, his work, and his faith.
Larry was the cherished husband of Sandi Aument, with whom he shared 57 years of devoted marriage. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Craig (Kim) and Jennifer Backer (Jim). He was a proud grandfather to Caleb (Jaylin), Ellie, and Aubrey, and a delighted great-grandfather to Weston. Larry is also survived by his brother, Mike Aument (Karen), and was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Also a prized friend to many within his church community. His parents, Elizabeth Sheeler and Edwin Lawrence Aument Jr., as well as his brothers John and Jim Aument, preceded him in death.
After completing high school, his younger days were spent as the captain of the Hollywood Beach Patrol, where he honed his leadership skills. Larry embarked on a career as a skilled wallpaper hanger. He had a passion for restoration, particularly of murals, which reflected his love for architecture and all things wallpaper. In his later years, he became deeply involved in the church, serving as the children's youth pastor at Pine Level Methodist Church.
Larry was a man who lived life to the fullest. He was very active, loved by people, and took great pride in his work. His love for the Lord was evident in everything he did. Those who knew Larry would describe him as hardworking, kind, and faith-filled. His positive impact on the lives he touched will be remembered and cherished.
As we bid farewell to Edwin Lawrence Aument III, we celebrate a life well-lived. A life filled with love, laughter, and a steadfast commitment to faith and family. Larry's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his loved ones and the many people whose lives he touched. His story doesn't end here, for his spirit lives on in the lives he shaped, the community he nurtured, and the faith he shared. May we all strive to leave behind a legacy as rich and as meaningful as the one Larry has left us.
A service will be taking place at Pine Level Methodist Church On Saturday, September 7th at 11A.M.
