

Born December 7, 1936, in Johnstown, PA he was a son of the late Edwin C. and Sadie M. Gordon. He was a 1955 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School. In 1958 he married Lucy Ann Johnson, childhood sweetheart, formerly of Philipsburg, PA to whom they had three daughters and later were divorced.
He was an Executive Salesman in the industry of heavy equipment starting with Cleveland Brothers in Philipsburg, PA relocating to various parts of Ohio with Marks Tractor when later worked for and retired from Ideal Roller Company in 2002 prior to moving to Florida with his youngest daughter and grand-daughter. His proudest career accomplishments were Most Improved Salesman of the Year through Marks Tractor. Highest civic accomplishments were having served on the Advanced Security Team for Motorcade Death Watch car on the Ford, Regan and Bush National Republican Congressional Committees.
He served in the Navy from 1954 obtaining the rank of Petty Officer Radio Man 2 with an Honorable Discharge in 1962 from Curwensville, PA. He served active part-time during the Korean War on the ship USS Amherst PCER.
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Coral and attended Deep Creek Community Church in Punta Gorda, a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks and the American Legion Post, Cape Coral, FL. Special Achievements and Offices held: He was one of the youngest Lay Leaders of Christ United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, PA. He was also designated a 32nd Degree Mason of the Knights Templar - Noble of the Mystic Shrine in 1983.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, gatherings with family and friends, Sundays at Church and brunch at Burnt Store Grille, Gilchrist Park and ice cream, most of all, spending quality family time.
In addition, he is survived by three daughters, Diane Weidhaas of O'Fallan, Mo, Susan Barchick and husband, Chuck, of Sylvania, Oh, and Linda Sposito of Punta Gorda, FL; five grandchildren: Wayne Weidhaas, Sarah, Jenny and Danny Barchick and Brittany Sposito.
A sister, Carolyn Gallaher and husband David, brother, Robert Gordon, nieces and nephews, some residing in Clearfield, PA and various parts of the US.
a Celebration of Edwin's life will be held on Saturday July 19, 2014 at 1:00PM from the Kays, Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home in Punta Gorda, FL a gathering of family and friends will be from 12;noon until the service . A secondary service will be held in procession provided for family and friends at the Punta Gorda Elks Lodge # 2606, Punta Gorda, FL. at 2:30PM followed by Full Military Honors.
