Eva Lorene Jones, 92, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Dec 15, 2011. She was born November 25, 1919 in Charleston, WV to Oscar and Ester Withrow. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker that enjoyed caring for her family. In 1979 she retired from the FW Woolworth Dept Store, where she had worked as a Sales Clerk and "Secret Shopper". She moved to Punta Gorda in 1985 from Charleston.
She is survived by her son, Thomas L (Betty Jo) Jones of Charleston, WV; daughter-in-law, Judy (Ernie) Haire of Seffner, FL; sister, Bea Fore of Nitro, WV; several grandchildren, most dearest in heart are, Crystal (Wayne) Rowe of Plant City, FL; Thomas (Crystal) Jones of Seffner, FL and Lucy (Larry) Goodwin of Yucca, AZ; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her husband, Thomas E. Jones in 1987, her son, Gary Allen Jones and her parents.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am till 11:00 am, Monday December 19, 2011 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00am, Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Neal Avirett officiating. Burial will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens.
