He was born on March 9, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan and came to Port Charlotte, Florida from Mount Clemens, Michigan. Gary was a tool and die maker, before moving to Florida and served in the US Marines Corps.
He is survived by his mother, Billie Smith of Punta Gorda, Florida; his brother, Thomas Margaret Merkle of Port Charlotte, Florida; his 2 sisters, Karen Kieling of Punta Gorda, Florida and Marcia Robinson of Shreveport, Louisiana, also many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Memorial services, Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. at Kays-Ponger Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte Florida.
In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to The American Heart Association.
