Gloria Ann Brattain, 87, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on April 28, 2022. She was born on September 7, 1934 in Providence, Rhode Island. After being stationed in a few beautiful places with her Navy Lieutenant husband, Herbert Keith Brattain, they lived the rest of their work lives in Virginia until retiring to Florida. Gloria was a passionate athlete all her life, favoring softball, golf, and tennis; she was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame in 1991 as a star pitcher. Gloria also won a Gold medal in the Senior Olympics, and won a World Series ring with the Golden Girls.
Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa Marie Parker and Laurianne Brattain Jones; their husbands John Parker and Edward Jones; her grandchildren, Samantha Josephine and Cassandra Anne Parker, and Gareth (wife Lindsay), Evan (wife Nicole), and Dylan Brattain Jones; and great-grandchildren Rhys, Wren, and Elis Jones.
Memorial services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Keith.
