Homer Douglas Vaughan 85, died at his residence in Port Charlotte, Florida on August 6, 2008. He was born on March 14, 1923 in Tacoma, Virginia to C.T. and Alfie Sexton Vaughan. Homer served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, he was a member of the American Legion Post # 110 of Port Charlotte, Florida and enjoyed hunting, fishing and any outdoor activity.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Vaughan of Port Charlotte, Florida, his 2 daughters, Virginia Jacobs of Arcadia and Nancy Frank Whidden of Sebring, Florida; 6 grandchildren, Angela Cooper, Sheila Jacobs, Laura Ann Ray, Tiffani Allen, Krista Boone and Erika Boone and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. at Kays-Ponger and Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida. Burial will follow with military honors at RestLawn Memorial Gardens.
