Jean was born April 4, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to Edwin and Bertha Napp Corbett. She graduated from Central Needle
Trades High School in New York City.
On September 3, 1949, she married William R. "Bill" Wiley. They lived in Valley Stream, NY until moving to Englewood in 1989.
Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an accomplished seamstress.
Given a needle and thread or hook and yarn, she could create anything, from matching dresses for her girls and their dolls
to warm caps and blankets for preemie babies in the nic units in Sarasota area hospitals. She loved watching the birds and
wildlife in her backyard and entertaining guests with her animated stuffed animals. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper
shakers which began in the mid 1940's during her courtship with husband Bill. Jean enjoyed traveling, especially cruising, and
loved being with her family.
Jean will be greatly missed by daughters Patricia (Wendy Miller) Wiley, Annette (Alan Robidoux) Wiley-Robidoux and
Mary (Gary) Myers;
granddaughters Alicia (Rob) Ferguson and Leigh (Dylan) Shannon; great-granddaughter Emma Ferguson; cat, Kevin; and her
adopted daughter caregivers.
The family wishes to extend their extreme gratitude to the aides, nurses and staff of Take Care Advisors and Tidewell Hospice
for their care and compassion.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 6, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Lemon Bay Funeral Home with funeral services to
follow. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Donations in her memory may be made to Suncoast Humane Society, 6781 San Casa Dr., Englewood, FL 34224.
