

Joe joined the Marine Corps in 1972, served in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1978 as a Staff Sargent.
He was a father, a grandfather, a brother, and a friend.
Joe was a avid golfer, loved to sail and loved the search for the Loch Ness monster, Noah’s Arc, the truth behind aliens, and would have loved to see a Big Foot.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Christine Dote, of Port Charlotte, FL., 2 daughter’s Erika Dote of North Port, FL., and April Stein (Joe Stein) of Estero, FL., 3 grandchildren, Mykala Arthur of North Port, FL., Austin Arthur of Estero, FL., and Alexandra Stein of Estero, FL., and 1 sister Carol Joaquin, of Palm Bay, FL. He was also papa to 2 grand-pups (spot and iggy) and 2 grand-cats (fat ass and dumb ass).
He was proceeded in death by his parents, father, Joseph Dote II, mother, Marie Dote, and his son Joseph Alexander Dote, who better have met him at the gates with a glass of Makers Mark and a fat joint.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Kays, Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
