He was a man whose gentle spirit and loving nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Larry grew up in Georgia, where he shared countless adventures with his siblings Frank White and Bobbi Ussery, and the late Linda Whitfield. He was the proud son of the late James and Willie Mae White. His early years were spent working on his parents' shrimp boat, learning the value of hard work and the importance of family. Larry carried these lessons with him throughout his life, embodying the spirit of his upbringing in every endeavor.
After graduating from Barrington High School in 1974, Larry honed his skills at a trade school for electronics, a foundation that would serve him well in his future career. It was while working in Illinois at Recon/Optical that Larry met the love of his life, Bonnie. Together, they raised their children, Joshua Price and Amanda (Adam) Larson, and later, their beloved grandchildren, Owen, Blake, and Hannah Larson.
Larry's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He was an avid football fan, with a special place in his heart for the Chicago Bears. His competitive spirit shone through in his love for bowling, where he was a fixture in three different leagues. Country line dancing, movie nights with a particular fondness for "Star Wars," and playing Yahtzee were among the many activities that brought him joy. Larry's love for Pepsi was well-known, as was his enthusiasm for travel, with trips and cruises being some of his favorite ways to create lasting memories with his family.
Described by those who knew him as thoughtful, gentle, and loving, Larry's presence was a comforting one, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. His love for his grandchildren was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment spent with them, instilling in them the same values of love and family that he held so dear.
