Laurie Stubbins

Laurie Stubbins, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 21, 2025, at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born on June 28, 1956, in Ottawa, Illinois, Laurie was a vibrant spirit whose laughter and warmth touched the lives of many she encountered.

Laurie was the daughter of Arnold Murdock and Marie Murdock (Serby), who preceded her in death along with her brother, Terry. She is survived by her son, Jesse Stubbins (Eve), her sister, Lynn (AJ) Fossen, and her brother, Rick.

After attending Laporte High School in Minnesota, Laurie embarked on a successful career in advertising sales, dedicating most of her professional life to the Buyline newspaper in Bemidji, Minnesota. Many clients of hers will remember her visiting them, no matter the weather.

Outside of work, Laurie liked to stay busy. In her younger years, she found great joy in water skiing and boating, activities that brought her closer to nature and created lasting memories with her family and friends. Some of her best times were spent at the Point of Pines resort on Lake Kabekona in Minnesota, where her family operated the resort together in the early 1970s.

As we remember Laurie, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Her absence will be profoundly felt, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
