" Purply Loretta"
Loretta was born the 12th of April 1945 in Philadelphia, PA, better known to her friends and family as Purply Loretta. She was the youngest of eight kids. She brought lots of love and happiness into the hearts of her friends and family. Loretta always had a smile on her face and lit up the room when she entered. She had a lust for life that was hard to match. Loretta married Bill Thomas and they celebrated 44 wonderful years together, they had a son Will. She was an Army wife and moved around the world from Army Base to Army Base. She could pack up and unpack all her household items in less than 4 days. Loretta loved everything purple and as she traveled around she found purple items for the home and family. The house was awash in a sea of purple. She loved music and dance, and if there was music playing you could find her on the dance floor dancing Latino, country, to Rock and Roll. From the German beer fests to weddings she led everyone in the famous chicken dance. Loretta loved to travel and spent many happy days visiting countries around the world. But most of all she loved visiting with her friends and family. She treasured her friends and treated them as family. She never missed a family or friends birthday. She would always choose a card to fit the person , everyone will miss those cards , something about getting a card over an email, text or a call that just brightened your day. Her real passion was being able to shop either with friends and family or by herself. She truly was a professional shopper. She was so thrilled when Will met Dawn, she finally had a daughter. She loved Dawn and Will very much. The two horses, three dogs and two cats, that Dawn and Will have, became her grand children, almost! Even when cancer started to take her, she always was upbeat and until the end she never let the cancer get the better of her. She had and amazing attitude throughout her ordeal and was never depressed. She died peacefully on the 7th of May 2011 with a smile on her face. Bill, Will and Dawn were with her in her final minutes on this earth. She will be clearly missed. We will always remember her wit, thoughtfulness and generosity. You will always be in our hearts, love always Bill, Will and Dawn.
Love Always, may your star always shine bright!
