Margaret A. Martin, 87, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away June 10, 2009. She was born September 2, 1921 in Buffalo, NY and moved to this area in 1983 from Eden, NY. In Eden, she was a Foster Mother and a Certified Safe House, having taken in 46 children over the years. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a former Eucharist Minister and Choir Member. She was a lifetime religious education instructor. She was a member of the Windmill Village Art Club and Billiard Club. She was a Mother for Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
She is survived by her children; Robert Moira Martin, Michael Noelle Martin, Thomas Cheri Martin, Gerard Diane Martin, James Karen Martin, Jeanne Lane Edwards and Carol Tom Migdalski; 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was pre deceased by her husband, Joseph C. Martin in April 1993.
The Visitation will be from 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm, Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. The Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Saturday,
