Marion E. Walker, 100, of the Village of Holiday Lakes, Port Charlotte, FL passed away January 14 following a short illness. Born in Boston, the only child of Clarence and Martha Bickford, the family moved to Needham, MA where she graduated from Needham High School, class of ’32. She married classmate, Eugene Walker, in 1942 and they moved to South Weymouth, MA. She was employed at Factory Mutual Insurance Company in Boston until her retirement in 1980. Upon retirement the family moved to Port Charlotte, Florida. She was the Treasurer of the Owners Association for many years and recognized for her prowess at shuffleboard and pool before losing her sight. She was an active member of the VIP (Visually Impaired Persons) group enjoying luncheons and outings with them. To the consternation of many, she continued to pilot her golf cart to and from the club house. Marion was predeceased by her husband and only child, David. Marion is survived by her nephew and wife, Paul and Mary Kelley, of Plymouth, MA, and their children, Jeffrey of Alexandria, VA and Lynn of Centerville, MA.
A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, February 8th, 11 AM at the Village of Holiday Lakes.
