ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL
MARK FOSTER BASS, 52, a life long resident of Englewood, died December 1, 2008.
Mark's grandfather John Jack Foster Bass moved to Englewood in the 1930's and established the first marine biological lab in Florida.
Mark was an avid fisherman, stone crabber, boat captain and hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Zoe Meyer Bass and his son, Mark Douglas Bass both of Englewood; his brother, John F. Bass and wife, Kathy Bass also of Englewood; sister, Amy H. Layendecker and husband, Robert both of Englewood; his niece Samantha Pritchett and husband, Travis; grand niece, Emma and grand nephew, Levi of Arcadia and nephew, Bruce A. Layendecker of Englewood.
A Celebration of life will be held at Englewood Gardens Beach Club, 2560 N.Beach Road in Englewood on Sunday, December 7th, 2008 at 4:30 P.M. until sunset. Bring a story to share.
