Marvin W. Curtis of Englewood, Florida and Blue Hill, Maine, died February 7, 2008 at Englewood Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Blue Hill, Maine on February 3, 1937 at the Blue Hill Memorial Hospital where his mother worked as a registered nurse for fifty years.
Marvin loved his summers at Toddy Pond and his golfing and boating in Florida. He also enjoyed his coffee with "the boys" and his annual baseball trips. He taught at Maine Maritime Academy for 30 years and surveyed boats after his retirement.
Marvin was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Vera Curtis. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia J. Curtis, his sons, Howard J. Curtis and his wife Dottie, Todd M. Curtis and his partner, Kelly, one brother, Robert L. Curtis and his wife Doris, and many nieces and nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held in Blue Hill, Maine during the summer. Donations may be made to Ira Berry Lodge F. &A.M., No. 128/4, Blue Hill, Maine 04614 or the American Heart Association, 2975 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, Florida 34238.
