Max was born on May 23rd, 1949 to Lula Mae Joyner in Bradenton, FL. After graduating from high school, he went on to enlist in the United States Army.
In the United States Army, he became a Legal Administrator earning the rank of CW3 (Chief Warrant Officer) before retiring from the military in 1991. After his military retirement, he went on to become a Systems Analyst in the financial industry.
In 1968, he met Nevada Irene (Warnock) Bishop, and they wed in 1970, going on to have two children, Lacey and Erin.
After retiring in 2014, Max spent his time reading, enjoying movies, and spoiling his grandson as much as possible.
Max is predeceased by his mother and his brother, Arthur Barth. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nevada Irene Bishop; his sister, Cynthia (Loy) Kartanowicz; his brother, Randy Yarbrough; his two daughters, Lacey Bishop and Erin (David) Lakeman; and his grandson, Chase.
Max is remembered fondly and is deeply missed by all those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Tidewell Hospice.
