Michael served in the Army at Ft. Knox, KY during the Viet Nam War.
Although his career spanned 20 years with Amtrak and 13 years as a Realtor in Chicago, his true passion was theatre. He performed often in theatre in both Chicago and Orlando, appearing as Conrad Birdie in BYE BYE BIRDIE with the Encore Theatre of Chicago. He appeared in HELLO DOLLY and OKLAHOMA with Sebastian's Dinner Theatre in Orlando, FL as well as in several productions with Music on Stage in Palatine, IL and The North Shore Theatre of Wilmette, where he also served briefly on the Board of Directors. He appeared in commercials for Burger Beer in Cincinnati and in NASA training films. He performed in operas with the North Shore Opera Company of Chicago at the Jack Benny Performing Arts Center in Waukegan,.IL.
Michael appeared at The Grangerford Minister in the 1985 Great Amwell Productions Film THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN which can often still be seen today on cable or educational TV channels.

A Celebration of Michael;s life will be held on Thursday March 27, 2014 at 4:00PM from Kays-Ponger Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Boulevard. A gathering of family and friends will be from 2PM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Chicago.
