He was born September 1, 1985, in Ft. Myers, FL to Mark and Lori Kays.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, spending time with family and friends and making people laugh. Mike graduated from Charlotte High School. He then went on to work in construction along with working closely with animals.
Mike is preceded by his Pop Pop Ron H. Kays; Uncle Matthew Kays
He is survived by his father Mark C. Kays; stepmother Diane M. Kays; mother Lori A. Kays; stepfather JR Witt; Brother Ryan H. Kays (Ayla); sister Jessica Barfield (Morgan); long-term girlfriend and mother of his children Monica Fiala; children Caleb J. Kays and Lily A. Kays. Grammy Loretta Kays, Grandfather Harry Custer (Maureen) Mike also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life for Michael will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, Florida 33952.
