obert Paul Horvath "Captain Bob" passed away November 15, 2014 after fighting a long brave battle. Bob originally from Parma Ohio graduated Parma High School class of 1959 and attended Ohio University. He moved to Port Charlotte in the early 1970's. He then started working for the Port Charlotte Fire Department as a firefighter and also served on the dive team, after consolidation in the late 1980's it then became Charlotte County Fire and EMS. He then earned the rank of Captain overseeing the three battalions as they have today. He served the community of Charlotte County for 27 years. Bob was loved and cherished by all who knew him. There was nothing Bob would not do for anyone. He had a love of trains and boating also. Bob was a long time member of the Florida Live Steamers and Trade Winds and the Atlantic Railroad Clubs; He was also a long time member of the Power Squadron. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Multiple Myeloma Research foundation would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of Capt.
