Kenneth M. Travis I, passed from this life into the presence of our Lord and Savior on August 21, 2014. Ken was born May 5, 1943 in Covington, KY to Martin L. & Annetta L. Travis; who have preceded him.
Kenneth has been a resident of Charlotte County for 34 years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Glenda Travis, his two children; son, Kenneth M. Travis II (wife Michele) and daughter Elizabeth Snook (husband Matthew), and his two grandchildren (Kimberlynn and Connor). He also leaves his sister Bonnie Travis-Roach of Port Charlotte, along with nieces and nephews in Florida and Ohio.
The last official job Ken held was as a Deputy Sheriff for Medina County, OH; they retired his badge number. Ken served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years; Honorably Discharged with the rank of Sargent. He was a Life Member of the Marine Corp League Detachment #256. Within the League he held the positions of Commandant of the Detachment, Commandant of the MCL Department of Florida, and the 55th National Chief of the Fun and Honor Society of the MCL, the Devil Dogs. Ken also served the Lord by being a Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Church Youth Counselor, and Children's Church Administrator. Of all this God, Family and Friends were his top priority.
