
Patricia Marie Weeks Brown, 85, passed away on June 21, 2007 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Pat was born in Buffalo , NY on March 16, 1922 to John and Claire Dalton. She grew up in Los Angeles, CA where she was very comfortable being a city girl riding trolleys around the city. She was very close with her brother, Jack Dalton, who she helped raise and who preceded her in death. She met and married William Mathew Billy Matt Weeks in Yosemite National Park where she worked for the United States Civil Service and where he was stationed with the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, they moved to Punta Gorda , FL , Billy Matt's hometown, and raised 3 daughters together. Pat had many outstanding qualities and was an especially wonderful wife and mother. She put everyone before herself and was humble and kind to everyone she met. She loved to read and care for her pets. Pat was a pioneer business woman in Charlotte County. She was the Real Estate Broker for General Development Corporation for many years in Port Charlotte. She eventually opened her own real estate firm and was named Realtor of the Year in Charlotte County. She counted among her many admirers the leading businessmen in the real estate industry in Charlotte County. She was also an active and dedicated member of the Pilot Club. After the death of her first husband, she married Howard Brown of Whitebluff, Tennessee and had five wonderful years of marriage to Howard before his death. She later moved to Naples and in her semi-retirement was a greeter with Walmart, where her warm smile and cheerful personality made her a perfect fit.
She is survived by her three daughters, Christine A. Vallis and Catherine L. Jim Crawford both of Gainesville, GA and Jill M. Bill Keith of Naples, FL; seven grandchildren; Debbie, Lori Anne, Randy, Jill, William, Robert, and Lauren; five great grandchildren; Ashlee, Christina, Colson, Ethan, and Tanner. Pat always considered herself a part of the Weeks family and is survived by Billy Matt's sisters, Jane Watson and Martha McCormick, his brother Wayne Weeks, three nieces, Cindy, Sandy, Michelle and nephew Roger.
The Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with Dr Chuck Cary and Ms. Libby Shannon officiating. Burial will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens.
