Paul Robert Abler, 83, was called into eternal rest on February 6, 2011 due to a car accident. He was born on September 18, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI to Herman and Asella Abler, raised Catholic serving as an altar boy through his college years. Paul became an U.S. Marine at the age of 17, stationed in Japan and Hawaii during WWII. He attended Marquette University.
Paul married Geraldine Butler in 1949 and became the father of four children (Suzanne, Barbara, Jill and Paul). He married his second wife, Patricia Frost, in 1968 and together they raised her five children (Daniel, Vicky, Thomas, Charles and Timothy). Paul is survived by his wife Patricia of 42 years, 9 children, 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren with one more on the way, his sister Joan, 6 nieces and nephews, multiple great nieces and nephews, and his cousin Beatrice.
He worked as a driver salesman, bartender and custodian. He and Patricia retired to Rotonda West in 1998 where he was employed at the Merchant's Crossing Publix. Paul loved his work, his Publix family, and being a husband and father.
