Richard E. Hull, age 77 of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Braintree, MA, passed away on November 19, 2019. Richard was born and raised in Braintree, MA, where he lived until he retired to Port Charlotte, FL. He is a graduate of the Braintree High School Class of 1960. Richard was a Retired Fire Chief of the Braintree Fire Department in Braintree, MA after 40 years of service. He was also the President on the Board of Directors of the Maple Leaf Golf and Country Club. Richard enjoyed golfing, camping, snowmobiling and traveling. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling together to places such as Disney World and Myrtle Beach. Richard loved planning and taking road trips and has been to most of the Continental United States and parts of Canada. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marjorie L. (Field) Hull; three daughters, Donna (Hull) O’Keefe and her husband, Brian of Port Charlotte, FL, Debra (Hull) Barclay and her husband, William of Braintree, MA, and Denise Hull of Greenville, NC. Richard is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Melissa Dougherty of Greenville, NC, William (Billy) Barclay and Devyn Barclay of Braintree, MA, and Nicholas O’Keefe of Port Charlotte, FL; 2 great granddaughters, Alice and Claire of Greenville, NC; and several grand dogs that he adored. Richard was the son of the late Frank E. and Ethel M. (Harvey) Hull and was the eldest of 4. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara (Hull) Hendrickson of Manassas, VA. Richard is survived by his brother, Robert E. Hull and his wife Rita of Braintree, MA; and his sister, Sandra L (Hull) Quinn of Brockton, MA; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Private family services are taking place. Family and friends will be invited to a memorial service at a later date.
