
Robert A. Bodin, 76, of Pt Charlotte, FL died October 25, 2007. He was born December 14, 1930 in Queens, NY. He served as an air tower operator in the Navy during the Korean War and after his discharge he married and worked for Emory Roth & Sons Architects while attending New York University. After the birth of his only child, he moved his family to CT where he worked as a draftsman and estimator, eventually finding his niche in sales and erection of structural steel and miscellaneous iron. Upon his retirement in 1995, he and his wife relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida. Bob was an avid motor boater all his life. He built his first boat in 1955 and eventually obtained his Captains license for 100 ton vessels. His favorite part of boating was all the friends he made and kept over the years. He was a member of the Port Charlotte Yacht Club, a third degree mason of the Island City Masonic Lodge #589 and a member of the Florida Elks Lodge #2153. He is survived by his wife, Ann of Pt Charlotte, his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bill Hebert, granddaughter, Meghan and great-grandson, Devin, all of Seminole, FL.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238 or to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
