Remembering and celebrating the life and service of Robert Edmond Sims Chief Petty Officer USN (Retired). He passed Wednesday May 7, 2014 at Englewood Hospital following an extended illness. He was born November 23, 1932 in Tampa, Fl. After over 21 years of active service in the United States Navy, he retired in October of 1972. During that service he participated in four campaigns in Korea and five campaigns in Vietnam. As a teenager he was also active with the Florida National Guard.
Husband, for over 59 years, of Elizabeth Ann Sims. Father of Robert William Sims, Mark Edmond Sims, Anthony Lee Sims, Lisa Ayers Greene, and Brenda Sims Brown. Grandfather of Justin Edmond Sims, Erica Brittany Sims, Cailin Elizabeth Sims, Hannah Lee Sims, and Chase Daniel Sims. He is also survived by brothers Donald Andrew Sims and Walter Leonard Sims.
