He was born in Fremont, Michigan on May 23, 1931, and came to El Jobean, Florida in 1978, with his beloved wife Lil Smith who since has passed, and son Thomas. He was an important member of the El Jobean community and a life time member of the moose Lodge. He was loved by all he touched , he will be dearly missed by all. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, in England as an Air Police.
He is survived by his Florida family, son, Thomas Laurie Smith; daughter's Dawn Ernie Nicther, Brenda Belstra, Debbie Bergez of Ludington, Michigan, Judy Martinez of Virginia and Jeanne Coleson of Michigan, his sister, Marlene Carl Hendrie of Fremont, Michigan, his brother, Jon Carl Sandyof Palm Bay, Florida, he has also been blessed with 10 grandchildren, Nicole & Kriste Thompson of Florida, Thaddeus O. Smith II of Florida, Heather, Leah, & Steve Belstra of Michigan, Rita, Roger, Candy, Gina Bergez of Michigan and 20 great grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date.
