William was a valued member of the First Presbyterian Church in Punta Gorda where he held positions as an Elder and a Deacon. He enjoyed gardening and had a particular passion for orchids and was a member of both the Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte Orchid Society’s. His other hobbies were fishing and hunting.
William honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War and later worked as a photo engraver and volunteer firefighter.
Loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him.
Survived by his loving wife of 37 ½ years Elaine; daughters, Holly Cassiday Smith (Paul) and Janet Cassiday Thomsen (Craig); sons, William Schultz III and David Cassiday (Amy); grandchildren, Cole Thomsen and Annika Thomsen; and also several nieces and nephews.
William is preceded in death by his parents William Schultz Sr and Marie Schultz and sisters, Eleanor Skanse and Helen Zuver.
