Daphne was the beloved wife of Kenneth Herbert Ross and a loving mother to her oldest son Ian (Vickie), her daughter Lynda and her youngest son, Peter (Chris). Daphne also had an extended family of grandchildren including Randy, Tracy, Ryan, Jonthan and Katherine and great-grandchildren, Elisa, Taysia, Jessica, Thomas and Jade.
A great lover of the outdoors, Daphne was an active hiker well in to her 70’s and spent a significant amount of time later in life enjoying the trails around Port Moody (with her dog Mike), Buntzen Lake, and White Pines Park. She was always keen to recruit others to join her in visiting these places she loved to frequent, and her love of the outdoors and hiking is shared by many members of her family.
Daphne was an elegant woman blessed with very good manners and decorum that was sometimes in contrast to the challenging but well-meaning behavior exhibited by her children. She led a very long and happy life, and much to her delight and that of her family, she proudly celebrated her 100th birthday on May 1, 2023. Daphne was very much loved by all the members of her family and will remain forever in their hearts and minds.
One of Daphne’s favourite places that she loved to visit frequently was the beautiful inlet of Indian Arm in British Columbia. In accordance with her wishes, this very special and unique location will serve as her final resting place.
