Grace went to be with the Lord at the age of 84. Grace was born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka and educated in Uduvil Girls School and Pandateruppu Girls School. She later trained to be a teacher and taught in Uduvil Girls School. She got married to Leslie Vraspillai in 1958. They had three children Christina Jasotha, Florence Chithra and Parthipan. As a young woman she served at Pandateruppu CSI Church as a church delegate and a was a member of the Bishop’s Council. She was a Sunday School superintendent and a play writer, staged many dramas and organized many events at the church. Grace contributed Christian articles to the Morning Star paper. She was the patron of the Girl’s Home which was managed by the church. She delivered the message in many churches across Jaffna.
In 1995, Grace moved to Vancouver with her husband, Leslie. She stayed with her eldest daughter’s family. She enjoyed the company of her brother, Rev. David Rathnam, and his family. She also lived with her second daughter in London and her son in Norway. Grace was proud of her family and she loved them each dearly. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Vallipuram and Rose Kanmany, four brothers, Jesuratnam, Thurairatnam, Ariaratnam and Rev. David Ratham. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Leslie Vraspillai. She was blessed with three children, Christina Jasotha, Florence Chithra, Remigius Parthipan, son in laws, Neil Rajasooriar, Tony Rubarajan, daughter in law, Kari Vraspillai, and ten grandchildren, Christy, Angelo, Joy, Daniel, Rachel, Rochelle, Jeriel, Benjamin, Kristina and Thomas, sister in laws, (Late) Priscilla Jesuratnam, Lily Thurairatnam, Jessie Ariaratnam, Gloria Dale Rathnam, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family in Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, Norway, Australia, Germany, the United States and throughout Canada.
