It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Born in Buchanan, Saskatchewan to William “Bill” and Mabel (Swetleshnoff) Shukin, Hazel grew up loving her close-knit family and the farm on which she roamed. At the age of 23, two years after the death of her father, the family moved to the Vancouver area where she met and married Harry Epp. Hazel loved her work as secretary at the Shell head office and the Shell Refinery followed by the Ministry of Health where she made many enduring friendships. Combined with raising two daughters she was never idle. Hazel is survived by her loving husband Harry, daughters Lisa and Lori (David), grandsons Bryan and Bradley, her younger sister Paulette “Pat” (Bob), plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Hazel always held her family close at heart followed by her love of nature. It would be safe to say her happiest moments were spent either with family or walking the trails of Mundy Park. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mundy Park Field House, 629 Hillcrest St. Coquitlam on Sunday February 25th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
