

Helen was born on October 3, 1932, in the Shell River Municipality, Manitoba. She lived a life grounded in faith, family, kindness, and devotion to those she loved.
A longtime member of the Lutheran Church, Helen devoted many years to her faith including teaching Sunday School for 27 years. She also belonged to various church groups where she happily and willingly volunteered many hours. She found great joy in sewing and quilting, creating not only beautiful pieces but lasting memories for her family and friends through the care and love woven into everything she made.
Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard Schwab; her sisters Mickey Chatterly and Sophie Stallard and her brothers Peter, Billy, and Michael Baranosky.
She is survived by her sisters, Margi McConville and Anne MacNeil and her brother, Johnny Baranosky.
She leaves behind her loving daughters Carol Long and Ardell Lysohirka and Ardell’s husband Derek Silk.
Helen was a proud grandmother to four grandsons and ten great-grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered by her grandsons:
• Doug Long, his wife Lisa and their children Lyndon, Corbin and Kerrington
• Derrick Long, his partner Jenny and daughters Annika and Penny Helen
• Corey Lysohirka, his wife Melissa and their children Drew and Kierra
• Chad Lysohirka, his wife Amanda and their children Charlye, Denver and Henry
Helen will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering faith, creativity, and deep love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured, taught, and loved so dearly.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
