Irene Bernardine Visser, born on August 14,1959 in Delft, Holland passed away peacefully with her husband Henk by her side on December 21, 2024 in Ladner, BC, after a long and spirited battle with thymus gland lymphoma.
Irene leaves behind a legacy of laughter, hospitality and charming mishaps. She worked over ten years at the Consulate General of the Netherlands, where her hard work and joy for life brought “gezelligheid” to the workplace. She is survived by her devoted, loving husband of 44 years Henk; daughters Sacha (Dave) and Emma (Mike); grandchildren Aiden and Sloane; siblings Carla, Ellis and Henne, as well as many other dear family and friends. She was predeceased by her mom (Stien) and dad (Wim).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 at 2:00 at the South Bonson Hall. Please RSVP to Henk, Sasha or Emma directly.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the remarkable staff at the Irene Thomas Hospice for their care throughout her short stay. The genuine attention and commitment to helping individuals and their families by staff brought immeasurable comfort during this time.
