JONES, Kevin Russell, son, brother, friend, uncle (both biological and adopted), godfather, musician, and loving caretaker of animals, born January 3, 1982, passed away suddenly May 15, 2016 as a result of complications from diabetes and Addison's disease. Son of Bob and Cathy Jones, brother to Julie, Colleen, and April (Simon), and dedicated uncle to Audrey, Kevin grew up in the Tri-Cities and, when not exploring the world via travel, made his home there as an adult. Kevin loved animals and had an amazing amount of knowledge about fish and nature. He passionately applied this knowledge to his career, his home aquariums and gardens, and to dinner table conversations alike. A talented guitarist, he loved music. Travel was another love and it allowed him to meet people and experience life in many parts of the world. Kev spread joy through acts of kindness and his goofy sense of humour – he did not think twice about donning a 7ft Olaf the Snowman costume to trick-or-treat with his goddaughter this past Halloween. We will miss him so much. The funeral will be on Friday, May 20 at 1pm at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 3141 Shaughnessy St, Port Coquitlam, BC. Reception to follow. We thank the paramedics, nurses, and doctors who cared for Kevin for their heroic efforts. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or the JDRF of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
