Natalie Clare Watkins

Natalie Clare Watkins, nee Ciurysek, born of hard-working Polish immigrant farmers on June 23, 1934, in Norfolk Township, Ontario, passed away peacefully in Surrey, BC, at the age of 90 on Saturday, June 7, 2025. She was predeceased by her son, our brother, Matthew, when he was 16, and is survived by her younger sister, Adele, and by her children, Michael, Tracy, and Mark, and their families here in British Columbia, as well as by nieces, nephews, and cousins in Ontario and the United States.

A Registered Nurse, Natalie spent most of her long career caring for geriatric patients and residents and maintained lifelong friendships with her colleagues on the wards. We remember Mom as a strong and resilient woman who always accomplished what she set out to do. She instilled in her children the values of empathy and honour, and taught us the importance of hard work.

A Funeral Mass and celebration of Natalie’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Bernadette Parish in Surrey, BC, with interment at the Mausoleum Niche, CL-46-5-2, Gardens of Gethsemani in Surrey on a date yet to be announced.
