It is with heavy hearts we announce that Norman Leon Gable passed away
peacefully on January 1, 2026.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son Scott (Siobhain), daughter Heather (Melissa); five grandchildren Sophie, Adam, Zach, Cam, Sara and numerous other family & friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Earl & Belle, his brothers Eric & Steve and his cousin Eva.
Norm was born in Vancouver, BC. He married Cathy and brought her to Coquitlam, BC to raise their family. Norm retired from the Vancouver Fire Department after 31 years of service. They were very active in the Vintage Car Club of Canada. When he wasn't busy helping others, he was camping, reading, building & fixing things, telling stories, playing cards with family & friends or having a nap.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to BC Professional Firefighters’ Burn Fund.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Burkeview Memorial Services, located at 1340 Dominion Ave, Port Coquitlam, BC, V3B8G7, Canada. The service is scheduled for February 21, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
