Robert Thomas Macdonald

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert Thomas Macdonald (Bob), 73, of Port Coquitlam, BC, on May 31, 2017 at Eagle Ridge Hospital. Bob was predeceased by his parents Ruth and John Macdonald and brother Douglas. Bob is survived by his loving wife Mary-Ann of 55 years, sister Dorothy Pigeon (Henri), brother in-law Grant Pearson (Mary-Jo), daughters Jessie Harding, Loralee Macdonald, Sheri DeVito (Dino), Joanna Boyce (Jeff) and son Shawn Macdonald (Dawn), grandchildren Kevin, Michelle, Kate, Valerie, Tony, Maryanna, Danica, Taylor, Brett, Tyler and Brittany, great-grandchildren Peyton and Kendall, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a great friend and mentor to many. He was adored by all of his loving children.

In 1968 Bob moved his young family from Vancouver to Port Coquitlam to begin a 37 year career with the Coquitlam Fire Department. He worked his way through the ranks and retired in 2003 as an Assistant Chief. Bob was a hard-working man, and dedicated to his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Coquitlam Alliance Church, 2601 Spuraway Avenue, Coquitlam, BC. Our family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to nurse Contessa and Dr.Yun of Eagle Ridge Hospital.
