Barbara's most important calling was being a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She was very involved in raising her sons as a Scout Den mother, PTA member, and cheerleader at every sporting event in which they played. Supper was always ready when her family returned from school.
After her sons left the nest, she worked as a cashier, and various office jobs through Kelly Girls including several years at NYSEG. Her service at the Legion included preparing breakfast for the World Youth Baseball Tournaments, various luncheons and dinners for wedding receptions and parties, including all the decorations, gift baskets for the Veterans Home calling Bingo for over 20 years and many other functions.
She loved polka dancing, was a member of the Bill Flynn polka fan club, and traveled with her husband to many polka dances at Hunter Mountain, Atlantic City, and many other places. She vacationed with her husband and special friends to Cancun and many other places including cruises. She loved playing the slots at casinos with her dear friends Pat Gulbin, Sandy Slater, and many others. She especially loved going to Mohegan Sun, Poconos where she would join her dear sister Lilian.
She dearly loved her grandchildren and loved nothing more than spending time with them through visits and dinners.
Barbara was a friendly and wonderful neighbor to all. Special thanks to neighbors Sandy and Don who were truly wonderful to Barbara.
She was a member of St. Catherines and later St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Binghamton. She will always be remembered as a most caring, thoughtful, and loving wife, mother, and friend to those who were fortunate enough to know her.
