Catherine L. Jones

Catherine Jones, 83, (born November 21, 1934) of Binghamton, NY, passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 28, 2018 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home (Susan and Jeffrey Doris) where she had lived and been cared for in recent days. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Gilbert Jones, her parents Clarence and Florence Romain, and sister Rosemary Pietrosanti. She is survived by her sister Claire (Carl) Newkirk, Oregon and California, and children Thomas Jones, Binghamton, NY; Diane Seery, Camillus, NY; Susan (Jeffrey) Doris, Binghamton, NY; Patricia Jones, Binghamton, NY, her grandchildren Rebecca (Ronald) Pangburn, Beth Doris, April (William) Grant, Mathew Seery, greatgrandchildren Tyler Doris, Ronald Pangburn Jr., Juliette Grant, Liam Grant and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by friend Kay Camp whose lifelong friendship she cherished. Catherine’s family was the main focus of her life. She also loved her cat, Mittens, shopping and reading her Nook until all hours of the night. Special thanks are given to caregivers Anne Pollack, Rebecca Pangburn, Joanna Schlee and Denise Doris. In addition, the family would like to thank Dr. Ramanujan, Dr. Liu, Nancy Evans, Dr. Reddy and Dawn, and Dr. Jayaraman and Shirley for their years of care of Catherine. Also special thanks to Michelle Herman from Twin Tiers Health Care and Hospice staff. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined by the family. Those wishing are asked to make donations in Catherine’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the charity of their choice.
