Daniel E. St John

Daniel E. St John, 77, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 and is now at peace in the arms of Jesus. He is the devoted husband of his companion of 60 years and wife of 55 years, Melanie (Gates) St John. He is the loving father of Aaron (Molly) St John, Erika (Scott) Dzuba and Luke (Katie) St John. His beloved grandchildren include Casey and Natalie St John, Gabriel, Elizabeth and Abigail Dzuba and his namesake Henry Daniel St John. Also surviving are his sisters Francine Walling and Elizabeth (John) Damiano, sisters-in-law Judy St John and Anita Gilley and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Phillips and Martha Frances St John, mother-in-law and father-in-law Harold & Phyllis Gates, brother Eric St John and brother-in-law Herb Walling.

Dan graduated from Chenango Valley High School in 1966, SUNY Delhi in 1968 and Oneonta College in 1970. While working as a Research Associate at Squibb Pharmaceutical in New Jersey, he obtained his graduate degree in human physiology from Rutgers University. Over the years he wore many hats including research associate, business manager for St John Associates Consulting Engineers, truck driver, financial advisor and tax preparer.

He was a member of the Beaver Meadow Lake Hunting Club, past President of the Nimmonsburg Rotary Club and an active member of The Ogden-Hillcrest United Methodist Church serving as head usher, trustee and head of its Endowment Fund.

The family will receive friends at the Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 1061 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 11am – 12:30pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 12:30pm.
