Freda L. Holmes

Freda (Scanlin) Laurine Holmes of Binghamton, 85, On Thursday January 14, 2016 Freda Holmes passed peacefully to her home in Heaven. She was predeceased by her parents, Marshall and Delia Scanlin also sister, Judy Strout. Freda is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Richard W. Holmes; her children, Rose & Chuck Gregory, Patricia & William Vetrino, Bruce & Suzanne Holmes and Brian & Katie Holmes; brothers, Winston & Joan Scanlin and Jerry & Robin Scanlin; also beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren and special nieces and nephews. Freda was a long time member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Vestal and she was a dedicated Avon Lady for over 30 years. Her family was so important to her and she wanted to do for all even though she physically wasn't able to. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, NY 13901, entombment will be in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park following. Family and friends can call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Freda's family wants to thank Mom's compassionate care providers at Susquehanna Nursing Home.
