Gary D. Wahl

Gary D. Wahl, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 after a long courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was predeceased by his mother, Beverly Wahl and father, Don Wahl; nephew, John Wahl; brother-in-law, Rick Caprio; mother-in-law, Connie Craver (Jim McMahon); father-in-law, Ed Craver (Phyllis). He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 45 years, Janice Wahl; brother, Keith & Jean Wahl; sister, Sharon & Kurt Brown; sisters-in-law, Terry Caprio, Jayne & Terry Tokarchik; Dawn & Wally Fye; Lisa & John Grainger; brother-in-law, Paul Rheinheimer; special nieces and nephews, Melody & Charles Solomon, Jason & Sarah Brown, Kimberly & Steve Reese, Christina & Shawn Simpson, Kelly Caprio, Holly & Jacob Moore, Jason & Karah Caprio; Melissa Fye and Michele & Kyle Vimislik; 14 great nieces and nephews. Gary was a graduate of Binghamton North High School, Broome Community College and MS in Education from Oneonta State. He retired after 34 years teaching at Chenango Valley, including 15 years of coaching Jr. high boys and girls basketball. Gary loved mentoring all of his students throughput the years. Gary served 6 years in the Army National Guard, loved golfing with his buddies; boating at the St. Lawrence River; cruising and spending winter vacations in Florida. A special thanks to Hospice, John Corea, Linda & Chuck Bucci and Cathy Fitzgerald for all their love and support over the past couple of years. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Broome Co. Humane Society, 2 Jackson Street, Binghamton, NY.
