Joyce C. Hamel

Joyce C. Hamel, of Binghamton, 84, died on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Wallace Hamel, and a son, John Hamel. Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Ruth & Tim (Schreiner) Hamel, of Baton Rouge, LA., Lauri Hamel, of Binghamton, Daughter-in-law, Joy Hamel, and grandsons; Matthew and Jason Hamel, all of Binghamton; also several nieces and nephews, and her grand dogs; Vinny, Patsy, Chase, and Tully.

Joyce was born in Swanton, VT., but lived in the Binghamton area for many years, raising her family there. She retired from the Binghamton Savings Bank. She was a devout member of St. Catherine of Siena (now St.Francis of Assisi) parish. Joyce was a loving and caring wife, mother grandmother and friend, she will be dearly missed by many.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi 1031 Chenango St. Binghamton, NY 13901. Family and friends may stop at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, NY 13901, on Friday September 19, 2014 from 4:00-6:00 PM.
